OSHA 10 / 30 Hour Training

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) strongly recommends participation in the OSHA Outreach Training Program as a valuable orientation to occupational safety and health for workers who are covered under OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910. This training program is designed to enhance workers’ understanding of workplace safety, reduce the risk of occupational injuries, and promote compliance with OSHA standards. The program consists of two course options: a 10-hour class and a 30-hour class, both of which are delivered by OSHA Authorized Trainers. The 10-hour class is specifically designed for entry-level workers, providing them with a foundational understanding of essential safety concepts and best practices. In contrast, the 30-hour class is targeted toward supervisors, managers, and workers who hold safety-related responsibilities within their organizations, and it offers a more comprehensive exploration of occupational safety principles, regulations, and hazard mitigation.

Upon successful completion of the OSHA Outreach Training Program, trainees will receive their official OSHA Outreach Training Course Completion Wallet Cards, which serve as proof of their participation and achievement in the training. These wallet cards are issued for either the 10-hour or 30-hour training course, depending on which course the trainee attended. The cards are mailed to trainees after being processed by OSHA, and they signify that the trainee has acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and address workplace hazards effectively. Through the Outreach Training Program, OSHA aims to empower workers with the knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, enhance their ability to identify and mitigate risks, and ultimately contribute to the productivity and safety of workplaces across the nation.
